Located in the northwest of Hubei Province, Zhushan County has a base for the production of the gallnut, which is a traditional export product of the county. After many years of development, the base presently covers an area of over 200000 mu,and has the annual output of nearly 2000 tons, accounting for 40% of the total output of gallnuts in the whole country. The gallnut in the county enjoys not only high yield, but also excellent quality, containing high tannin content that reaches 75% or so.
