Property: Brownish to yellowish powder with special odor and very bitter taste, soluble in 1 share of water or ethanol, and acetone, practically insoluble in chloroform or aether.
Specification: Conforming to UK Pharmacopoeia of 1993 edition and USA Pharmacopoeia of 1995 edition.
Technical Index:Tannin Content ≥ 86% ;water-insoluble substances ≤ 0.2%; loss on drying ≤ 9%; clarified degree of water solution:in conformity; gum and dextrin: in conformity; ignition residue: ≤ 0.2%; gallic acid content < 7%; total color ≤ 2.0.
Uses: With the antiseptic,enzyme-eliminating, and convergent effects, applied as antibiotics to treating tinea, eliminating toxic substances, stopping diarrhea etc.,and also used as an effect-enhancing agent for synthetic sulfanilamide.
Storing: Stored in hermetically sealed containers.
Packing: Packed in plastic bags with the per-bag capacity of 25 kilograms, or in bottles with the per-bottle capacity of 500 g, or 250g.
